We could board the ‘Kennicott’ at 3:00 pm for our trip on the ‘Alaska Marine Highway’ and through the ‘Inside Passage’ and we left at 6:00 pm. We didn’t have a cabin, but we heard you could sleep on deckchairs in the solarium so we brought our sleeping gear. Continue reading
A short ride to Bellingham
From Seattle, we cycled to Bellingham in 1,5 days. Betty lead us out of the city, so we didn’t have to search for a route. After a short section on normal roads, we picked up the Centennial trail in the town of Snohomish. Continue reading
A week of vacation by car
Our little vacation started off very well: when we were parked in the street to load our stuff in the car, we got 2 parking tickets! The first one for being parked with the front of the car facing the wrong way and the other because all our wheel were straight. Continue reading
Some time off in San Francisco
After about 2 weeks of nice short days of cycling, watching wildlife, campfires and good company, we arrived in San Francisco. There, we could stay with Erik and Lindsey who we had met in Bolivia and Peru.

And then we really were on our way; a new country with new experiences. The next real stop would be San Francisco, so our focus was on getting there. We bought good stuff and were finally able to eat something else than beans/rice/chicken/meat. It tasted great! Continue reading
Mexico in words and images
After a great vacation at the beach in Playa del Carmen, on the Caribean coast, we got back on our bikes to cycle 3500 kms (2100 miles) across Mexico, to Mazatlan, and from there on by boat to La Paz on the Baja California Peninsula. Then followed 1500 kms (900 miles) of desert on Baja. Continue reading
Baja California
Well, what shall we say about Baja? We had read and heard a lot about Baja California. Most cyclists loved it there, some really didn’t like it. So we didn’t really know what to expect, but we did know that there would be a lot of desert. And there was. And a lot of (head)wind. Continue reading
Across Mexico
After we had passed Mexico City, we continued to the city of Morelia. We cycled through forests and mountains where we could smell the great scent of pinetrees again. Again, a lot of climbing but the scenery made up for a lot of it. Continue reading
Everything breaks down
With the one problem solved, the next has arrived. This time it´s not the bikes, but the computer. The right side of the keyboard isn´t working anymore, together with some of the other keys. Continue reading
