The Icefields Parkway is a 230 km/138 mile long road through the Rockies, from Jasper to Lake Louise (or the other way around) and leads you by an enormous icefield (Columbia Icefield), about 100 glaciers and lakes with beautiful colors.
After more than 3 weeks of hardly any cycling, being back on the bikes took a little getting used to again. The first day was a hard one; 160 kms (100 miles) from Prince Rupert to Terrace.
And again we took the ferry. Whittier is close to Anchorage, so we could cycle over pretty easily. But to get there, you have to go through a long, narrow tunnel which is built for trains. You’re not allowed to cycle through, so you have to find another way to get through. Continue reading
