• Panama city – border Costa Rica: almost all hilly, only from Penonome till about 25 kms after Santiago it’s flat. The road is very bad and narrow, part without shoulder. Between Santiago and David (200 km/ 120 miles) there are not many towns and places to spend the night, only in Tolé and San Felix/Las Lajas (also with the bomberos, just after the intersection).
