After we relished ourselves on vegetables, fruits, potatoes, cheese, meat and most of all bread with Nutella, we left El Calafate. It was hard, but necessary. Took the bus to El Chalten and it took us 3 hours. It was still storming so bad that even the bus had trouble with the hard gusts. It was a good thing that we took the bus. Mel and Chris came halfway and took the bus from there and Gijs, Karen and the 2 Swiss guys arrived in El Chalten very tired after 2,5 days of battling the headwind. We had a small reunion there at the campground.<\/p>\n
It was storming and raining and the campground wasn\u2019t very nice, so we decided to go on the next day to get to the ferry across Lago Desierto. Even though the forecast was even more wind than that day. Fortunately, the weather was really nice the next day but it was still storming. We packed everything and got ready for 25 miles full headwind. Mel and Chris didn\u2019t feel like battling that wind and decided to stay another day and Karen and Gijs wanted to hike in the national park. So it was just the 2 of us again.<\/p>\n
But it turned out to be a very good and nice trip. The road was very sheltered, so the wind didn\u2019t bother us very much. Only on some parts when there was an open area or when we rounded a corner. Also, the road was fairly flat, the hills that were there were not very steep. We made the 2 o\u2019clock ferry nice in time. On the other side of the lake we got our Argentinien stamps in our passports so we didn\u2019t have to do that the next day. We could camp there and pitched our tent in a sheltered spot. While we were enjoying the nice weather and sunshine, we had a nice view over the mountains on the other side of the lake.\n\t\t
